[Solved] Ghosty computer turns itself on windows 10

Ever woke up to a automatically started PC? Ahhh that’s ghosty right?? Ya well there are few ghosty computers which turns itself on at mid night.

Lets unfold the mystery behind this ghosty computers.

No ghost no bullshit 😛 Network drivers: These are the main culprits. 

Network drivers has a special feature of waking the computer if the power is on. Wake on Magic Packet causes the network card to awaken the computer when it receives a magic packet even though computer is shutdown.

If you don’t want/need your computer to be woken up from anywhere else, you can disable the options.

Solution: Right Click on My Computer > Manage > Device Manager > Network Adapters and double click each of them and click on power management tab and uncheck the “Allow this device to wake the computer” setting, then hit OK. This is should solve the automated turn on issues in windows 10.
